Do you not realize items such as food scraps, yard trimmings, wood waste and paper products make up more than two-thirds of the solid waste stream currently being sent to landfils? However a properly constructed and managed home compost bin will decompose these items in only a few months. Therefore why send our “Gardeners Gold” recyclable items to landfills when they may be composted and used as a medium to grow plants or an excellent organic soil amendment? To learn more about recyclng please go to:
http://www.recycling-revolution.com/recycling-facts.html
http://www.environment-green.com/
http://www.plasma-wr.com/default.

Comment on Welcome

Madison what are you doing!?Times are rough, businesses are closing or leaving, property value's are down and home developments do not develop any more. Only 195 signatures on the petition shows a lack of interest by the county residents as usual. The empathy and complacency of the people in this county is unbelievable. If the people of this county don't get fired up and fight this proposed landfill, they are going to wake up one morning and find that all the permits, etc. have been issued and the landfill approved. SIGN THE PETITION AND CONTACT YOUR COUNTY COMMISSIONER!!!!!!!

Comment on Welcome

I just wanted to say me and my husband moved to Morgan County in 1992 from South Florida. The water was so bad there it smelled and tasted horrible. Here we have a well that has water that you can not tell from that bottled spring water. By letting these people put this stinking, land destroying, mound of garbage in this beautiful county I'm afraid it is going to destroy our drinking water. We have a son that is 8 years old and just loves our water and our homeplace in Gofrey Community. Please say no to the landfill and all the garbage that comes with it.
